Here I stand, in this crowded room
That filled with emptiness
With strangers exchanging glances
Shoulders rubbing shoulders
Solitary or grouped, empty souls are there
Faking smiles to one another
As I watch, I give a genuine smile
To myself in the mirror that smiling back at me
Here I am, in this crowded room
That filled with loneliness
With passers-by avoiding each other
A lifetime, I would spend
To seek love in every corner of this room
Naive you may say I am
As I believe in lies that never exist
But I am not as empty as you are
My soul, is filled with hopes more than anybody else
In this dimly-lit crowded room
